Coaching and Therapy

My orientation is primarily cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on working with your thoughts and emotions, as well as your behavioral habits, so that you can more easily and effectively reach your goals and create a life in line with your own deeper values.  Mindfulness fosters greater awareness and acceptance of your experiences and emotions, allowing even so-called negative emotions to be experienced in a positive way.  Both CBT and mindfulness are evidence-based approaches, meaning that        research has demonstrated their effectiveness, and these      therapeutic modalities are generally time-limited in duration.

My treatment approach integrates mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and with a number of other therapeutic techniques. Therapy is focused on helping you 1) reach your goals, whether they be related to career, relationships, finances, cognitive and behavioral patterns, or other concerns; and 2) to feel better about who and where you are in the present moment.

Treatment is conducted in the context of a warm, safe, collaborative therapeutic relationship that emphasizes the importance of feeling understood and allows you to explore your own values and bring out your own strengths. It is collaborative in the sense that the particular tools, techniques, and exercises used will be based on your own unique needs and goals.
